Ice Experiment
What you'll need:
Bowls or dishes (for making the ice)
A large tray with sides
Salt
Liquid watercolors or food coloring
Droppers or a spoon
Instructions:
1. Fill bowls with water and let them to freeze overnight.
2. Loosened the ice from the bowls with a little warm water and set them in a big cookie tray with sides.
3. Sprinkled salt over the tops of the ice domes.
4. Once the ice starts melted add the food coloring or watercolors.
Pink tip:
Do this experiment outside to make it a lot less messy. Don’t use a lot of salt or the ice will melt too fast. The liquid watercolors help to highlight the ravines, crevasses, and tunnels that are forming in the ice as the salt melts it.
